About this event

Come join a talk from two of our newest members, Barny and Ana. They have spent years researching, writing, and publishing on the architecture of inaction, with the climate as their principal lens.

In this presentation, you’ll discover:

  • Why group belonging plays a central part in whether we act on the signals around us.
  • Why having more information doesn’t always lead to more action.
  • How this same architecture may be at work when our family, friendships, and professional relationships struggle to respond to what is right in front of us.
  • How the worlds we create together can help us see reality — or sometimes make it harder to see.
  • Why the very thing that can keep us from changing may also hold an unexpected possibility for change.

And perhaps most importantly: what might all of this have to do with communities like Sunday Assembly?

------

Welcome to Sunday Assembly Seattle!

Monthly assemblies are a time for us to gather as a secular community to celebrate life and pursue ways to “Live better, Help often, and Wonder more.”. Each month we explore a new theme.

Here's what you can expect at an assembly:

  • Time to mingle – chat and catch up with other community members
  • Singing together – sing along to popular songs (lyrics provided!)
  • A reading – we glean wisdom from multiple sources. From a short passage in a poignant book to a moving poem, inspiration comes in many forms.
  • A speaker focused on the month’s theme.
  • A lively group discussion & reflection on the talk.

Come share in the warmth, wisdom, and good vibes.
✨ All are welcome!
