Please read entire description before you rsvp. Would you like to learn the basics of kayaking? Palm Beach Pack and Paddle Club would like to help you gain experience and confidence in paddling. If you are not currently a member of Palm Beach Pack and Paddle Club you can join using the electronic membership form on meetup or there by completing an application and paying $20.00 for the year. Event is free for Palm Beach Pack and Paddle members. If members have attended 3 times please consider making a $20.00 donation to help cover the cost of the equipment and maintenance.
There are several entrances to the park. So you won't get lost, please enter the park at the correct entrance. It is located at:
4756 S Congress Avenue, Lake Worth. Meet at 10:30 am at Square Lake. Remember...Enter the Park at 4756 South Congress Ave. Then go straight for a quarter mile and Square Lake will be on your left. Look for the Kayak Trailer.
Beginners and First Timers are welcomed. We will provide basic kayaking instruction, a properly fitted PFD (Personal Flotation Device/Life Jacket), a paddle and a kayak.
After a basic orientation we will take a short leisurely paddle launching from Square Lake in John Prince Park South.
Please wear a hat, sunscreen and shoes that can get wet. Also bring a bottle of water and any desired snacks. If you have questions call or text Rachel at 561-358-9568. If you cannot attend please change your rsvp so the spot opens up for another participant.
By providing an RSVP and participating in the event you agree to wear a fastened properly fitted PFD (Personal Flotation Device/Life Jacket) and agree to hold Palm Beach Pack and Paddle and their trip leaders harmless for any injuries or damages incurred while participating in this event.
As always this event is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if inclement weather or too much wind is predicted. Please check this meetup post on the morning of the event for any updates.
