About this event

The AWS Healthcare & Life Sciences Customer Meetup returns to Nashville. Join us at Amazon Tower 1 on Thursday, September 10 for a full afternoon of hands-on building and technical sessions from the teams behind some of the most compelling healthcare and life sciences workloads running on AWS today.

The day opens with a complimentary lunch, followed by a two-hour hands-on workshop where you'll build and deploy a working multi-agent AI system. Three technical sessions on real production architectures follow, and the day closes with a networking happy hour featuring complimentary food and drinks.

Complimentary lunch and networking happy hour included validated parking available. Bring your laptop if you are attending workshop!

THE HANDS-ON WORKSHOP — Agentic AI for Healthcare & Life Sciences Two hours, hands-on, with working code at the end. You'll build a multi-agent system that addresses a real problem: predicting lung cancer survival outcomes. The architecture is a supervisor agent coordinating four specialists — a biomarker database analyst, a statistician, a clinical evidence researcher, and a medical imaging expert. You'll wire them together using Strands Agents and deploy on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime, including agent self-review and planning loops. This is a build session - you'll leave with your agents running. Please bring a charged laptop. Led by Tanu Bondu and Nihita Sarma, AWS Solutions Architects.

THE SESSIONS

Owning the AI Layer: How Resilience Built a Model-Agnostic Enterprise AI Platform on AWS CJ Stone, DevOps Engineer & Stellar Labs Architect, National Resilience Resilience built StellarLabs, a model-agnostic AI integration hub on AWS. Plugins expose enterprise systems as reusable AI tools alongside vendor-supported MCP servers, and everything flows through a single governed proxy that preserves each user's identity and permissions while maintaining a complete audit trail — taking a request to adoption in minutes across AI chat, automated workflows, autonomous agents, and live applications. CJ walks through the architecture behind StellarApps, StellarKnowledge, StellarAgents, and StellarIntelligence, along with the tradeoffs and lessons learned along the way.

Using AI and Multiomics to Generate Actionable Clinical and Commercial Insights Lukasz Wylezinski, PhD, Decode Health Decode Health is a Nashville precision medicine company running two complementary programs: biomarker discovery for immune-mediated diseases such as MS and IBD, feeding new diagnostics and therapeutic candidate evaluation, and clinical decision support built over EHR, claims, and social-determinants data spanning hundreds of thousands to millions of lives. Lukasz covers how the team approaches explainability, and where they're taking the platform on AWS next.

The Death of Standing Privilege: Rethinking Privileged Access in Health & Life Sciences Garrett Long, Britive Standing privileged access is a persistent risk in most cloud environments, and in regulated healthcare it carries compliance exposure as well. Garrett makes the case for cloud-native privileged access management and outlines what it takes to eliminate standing privilege in practice.

HAPPY HOUR — 6:00 PM The day closes with a networking happy hour featuring complimentary food and drinks, sponsored by Britive — the best opportunity of the day to connect with peers across the Nashville healthcare and life sciences community and continue the conversations the sessions started.
