Labor Day Paddle at Georgetown Lake ‍

Let’s soak up one of the last paddles of summer before the cooler fall weather starts settling into Colorado! ☀️🏄‍♂️🍂 For Labor Day 🇺🇸, we’re heading up to beautiful Georgetown Lake 🏔️🌊 for an afternoon on the water. Surrounded by mountain views, Georgetown is a great place to spend part of the holiday, enjoy the sunshine ☀️, meet some new people 👋, and squeeze in another summer paddle before our warm-weather paddling season begins winding down. 🍁

🕛 START TIME We’ll meet around 12:00 PM and plan to get on the water shortly afterward. We’ll paddle at a relaxed, social pace 🏄‍♂️🛶 and spend approximately 2–3 hours on the lake. This isn’t a race 🏁, so come out, enjoy the scenery 🏔️, and paddle at a pace that’s comfortable for you.

🏄‍♂️🛶 WHAT TO BRING Bring your own SUP, kayak, or other suitable paddle craft, along with your paddle and any necessary gear. 🦺 A PFD is required. Georgetown Lake is at a high elevation 🏔️, and the water can be cold 🥶🌊 even when the air temperature feels warm ☀️. Please dress appropriately for the water temperature and weather conditions.

📍 MEETING LOCATION We’ll meet at the Rocky Mountain Paddleboard dock behind Cabin Creek Brewing at Georgetown Lake.

🌦️ WEATHER Mountain weather can change quickly ⛈️💨, so we’ll keep an eye on the forecast as Labor Day gets closer. If conditions are unsafe due to strong winds, thunderstorms, or other weather, the event may be adjusted or canceled. Come enjoy the mountains 🏔️, water 🌊, sunshine ☀️, and good company

🚗👥 CARPOOLING For anyone who would like to carpool, we can meet at Mammoth Lot and ride together to Georgetown Lake. 🏔️🏄‍♂️ If you’re interested in carpooling, please post in the comments so we can coordinate drivers, passengers, and space for paddleboards or kayaks. 🚙🛶

📍 HOW TO FIND US / PARKING 🚗 I’ll try to park near Twenty-Second St in the first parking lot. Since we’re starting at 12:00 PM, the parking lot may already be full by the time we arrive. If that lot is full, please find another available parking spot nearby and make your way toward the lake. 📌 I’ll share our exact meeting location once I arrive so everyone can easily find the group
