Hosted by Community Bucket ATL
About this event
Join Community Bucket for one of Atlanta’s most iconic community events — the 2026 Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade!
Community Bucket will be volunteering in partnership with A Tiger Club to help support the parade’s live bands as they make their way along the route. Our primary role will be serving as band marshals, helping keep the bands organized, moving safely through the parade, and maintaining enough space around performers as thousands of participants and spectators fill the BeltLine. Volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Walking alongside or near assigned bands during the parade
- Helping maintain clear space around musicians and performers
- Assisting bands as they move along the parade route
- Helping manage the flow of parade participants around the bands
- Communicating with parade organizers and other volunteers as needed
- Providing general parade support throughout the evening
This will be an active volunteer role, so expect to spend much of the evening walking and on your feet. No previous parade or event experience is necessary — just bring a positive attitude, comfortable shoes, and a willingness to help keep one of Atlanta’s biggest community celebrations moving smoothly!
What to Wear
- Comfortable clothing appropriate for the September weather
- Comfortable closed-toe walking shoes
- Clothing you are comfortable walking and standing in for several hours
What to Bring
- A refillable water bottle
- A fully charged cell phone
- Comfortable walking shoes
- A positive attitude and willingness to help
Transportation & Parking
Parking near the parade route will be limited, so volunteers are encouraged to use MARTA, rideshare, or the BeltLine when possible.
Registration
PLEASE only RSVP if you are able to attend. This is a coordinated volunteer role, and the parade organizers will be depending on us to help marshal the bands throughout the event. If your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as possible so another volunteer can take your place. Additional volunteer instructions, meeting location details, and assignments will be shared with registered volunteers before the event.
About the Lantern Parade
Created and presented by Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade transforms the BeltLine into a glowing procession of handmade lanterns, live music, performers, and thousands of community members.
