Recuérdalos Canciones y Celebraciones para el Día de los Muertos

"Remember Them! Songs and Celebrations for Día de los Muertos"

Enjoy a celebration honoring the lives and memories of those who came before us, blending tradition, community, and joy. This outdoor concert will feature song selections performed by Mariachi Toro de Duke, a student mariachi group, Son de Carolina, performing son jarocho, a folk music and dance style from Veracruz, Mexico, and Duke Chorale. There will also be a reading of an Aztec legend about the cempasúchil flower.

Art activations will also be available for guests to create and add to the Día de los Muertos Ofrenda in Duke Chapel, along with beverages from Velvet Hippo and Mexican pastries and pan de muerto from Panaderia Pahuatlan.

This event is presented alongside a series of events to celebrate the Día de los Muertos Ofrenda in collaboration with Duke Chapel and Say the Thing, with support from student groups Mi Gente and Duke MASA (Mexican American Student Alliance).
