A starting point for your table
Use this list when you set up your event. Decide what you'll cover as host, then ask each guest to add what they're bringing.
Decide what the host is making, then ask guests to fill the gaps.
Mix warm and cold dishes. Agree on portions once you know the headcount.
Add something sweet and note whether it needs fridge or freezer space.
Include water, other drinks, and a cooler if you need one.
Remember cups, napkins, serving spoons, and a utensil for each dish.
Sort out bags, containers, and a few people to help at the end.
Include an arrival time and a serving time, let people know where to park, and explain how to add their dish. Ask about dietary needs before the menu is set. A day before the meal, check the guest list and fill any gaps in food, drinks, or serving tools.
