About this event
Explore three centuries of musical innovation as faculty violinist Gabriel Richard presents "The Three Bs: Bach, Bartók, Boulez-Perspectives on Form from the Baroque to the Contemporary."
The program traces the evolution of musical form through a violin transcription of Bach's BWV 542, Bartók's Sonata for Solo Violin, Boulez's Anthèmes I, and Bach's Partita No. 2 for Solo Violin. Moving from the intricate architecture of the Baroque to the bold musical languages of the 20th century, the recital reveals striking connections among three composers whose works continually challenge and redefine the possibilities of sound.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
