About this event

Dr. Meida McNeal from Chicago Department of Culture and Special Events/DCASE and resident artist Leyda "Lady Sol" Garcia will share Healing Arts Chicago, a cross-sector effort to grow the arts and health workforce by embedding artists in Chicago's federally-qualified mental health clinics.

This is the third of a three-part public conversation series bringing together arts, humanities, medicine and healthcare professionals, artists, community leaders, and students from Duke and Durham to explore how creative practices can support healing, connection, and wellbeing. From national, state, and local efforts to prescribe arts engagement for wellbeing, to emerging policy platforms and workforce development, each event hosts two handpicked leaders from arts and health professions to share work and insights.

This series is moderated by Dr. Sarah Wilbur, dance-and-health practitioner and arts-labor researcher (Dance & Theater Studies).

Free and open to the public! Please RSVP at link below.
