About this event
Join Cori Hutchinson, Discovery Lead Librarian, in this participatory, discussion-based program centered on the book A Month in Siena authored by Hisham Matar. In the short-form memoir accompanied by full-color illustrations, Matar embarks on an ekphrastic—descriptive—meditation guided by Sienese painters such as Ambrogio Lorenzetti and Duccio. As the writer travels through convergences of the city and its art, he finds familiarity and meaning in concentrated looking.
The book is available through The New York Public Library: https://borrow.nypl.org/search/card?id=b4a0c286-0e29-547f-b57a-ae8e52659d33&entityType=FormatGroup and other libraries.: https://search.worldcat.org/title/1174668559
