About this event
From n=1 to n=few: How do we get novel genetic therapies to more patients? Madeleine Oudin, PhD
Wednesday, October 14 | 11:30 AM-1:30 PM LabCentral | 700 Main Street North, Cambridge, MA
Rare disease therapies hold tremendous promise, but developing treatments for ultra-small patient populations remains one of the field's greatest challenges. On October 14, Madeleine Oudin, PhD will present her work developing splice-switching antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) for SCN8A-related disorders, exploring both the potential of mutation-specific genetic medicines and the translational hurdles of bringing novel therapies to patients with rare and ultra-rare diseases. Using SCN8A as a case study, her research highlights new approaches to precision genetic medicine while addressing the scientific, clinical, and development challenges that arise when patient populations are measured in dozens rather than thousands. Why Attend
- Learn how Tufts research is being translated into precision genetic therapies for rare and ultra-rare neurological disorders.
- Explore new approaches to developing mutation-specific medicines for highly heterogeneous patient populations.
- Gain insights into translational strategies for advancing genetic therapies from discovery toward clinical application.
- Connect with colleagues across Tufts and the LabCentral ecosystem. Big ideas. Early stage. Real potential.
