About this event
As cities become more dense and popular, we can learn about how we can connect with natural spaces in urban populations to make nature seem more accessible, in this case on campus.
Join Sustainable CORE Fellows, Tufts Pollinator Initiative, and Tufts Facilities on Thursday, October 8 from 6-7 p.m. to learn about the care that goes into maintaining our campus green spaces and how many different types of plants and ecologies can exist even on a college campus.
We will meet in front of Tisch Library and tour the upper campus, including Prez Lawn and the Academic Quad. Along the way, we will learn about the plants around us, how facilities decides what to plant, and the different forms of urban nature we encounter every day.
After the tour, we will have a discussion about how we can make campus ecology more accessible and engaging for students! We want to hear your thoughts on the role of nature in urban spaces!
Pizza will be provided.
